Romance is wonderful. The fluttering of butterflies in your stomach. The sweaty palms. The instant smile that permeates your face the moment that person enters any room you are occupying. The anticipation of each note, each email, each text message and each phone call. Flowers, chocolates, love letters, and the list goes on. This month we all have our focus on Romance. Every store has Valentine's stuff displayed and ready to sell, but when did romance become something that could be bought instead of experienced?
We as a culture have reduced love and romance to something you buy once a year, however what would happen to marriages if we could keep the romance alive all year around. It isn't about the gift or the gesture, it is about showing each other how much you really love each other. I am sure some of you are asking the question...How? I could offer suggestions, but the best way to know what would work for you would be to remember back to the beginning of your special relationship and think about the things that made you feel loved in the beginning, then begin implementation. Can you imagine doing something special for your spouse every single day? If you made this your goal for the rest of the year I am sure you will have a more loving relationship by the end of the year. That is if this action is sincere and from the heart. People know when you are placating or just trying to avoid guilt. If you do things out of a heart of love I am sure that there is more than one day a year that your love will be celebrated.
