The last month has been particularly difficult for me. It seems like every time I turn around something else goes wrong. I have been constantly battling discouragement. It has not been an easy road, however God helped me a few days ago in a great way. He showed me that even if I feel like I fail the only way I could possibly fail is if I was to give up.

People all throughout the Bible had times when things did not seem to go right and they persevered. Paul shares with us his thoughts on this in 1 Corinthians 4:8-9, "We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed." (New Century Version).
When we look back over our lives, God is going to focus on our relationship with him, not our accomplishments. He is going to focus on how loving we were towards others, not how much we get done in one day. He is going to focus on the moments when we trusted him not on the moment we tried to do it on our own and failed. He is going to focus on the times we ran to him and not the times we ran away. We need to move past the troubles in this life and focus on the one who is bigger than everything else, for it is those moments that are the most valuable in life.
