This morning was my Women's Bible Study and I was really tired and did not want to God, but I knew God wanted me to go. I could not come up with a good reason to stay home, so I went. I am so happy I did. In the first 5 minutes of being there I knew why God wanted me there. The devotion was about the story of the talents. If you are not familiar with this story it can be found in the Bible in Matthew 25:14-28. The person related it to their own life, saying that she was lacking talent, however God showed her that she had the gift of His forgiveness and He wanted her to share it with people. The song, Jesus, Friend of Sinners by Casting Crowns reveals to us how we can prepare to share. We need to ask God to break our heart for people the way His already is.
This really helped me see past all of the little nagging issues that have been bothering me lately to see that the important things in life is not these little issues, but how you reached out to those who God has placed in your life. My prayer is that my heart toward people would match God's heart, and that it would remain that way. I sometimes get so wrapped up in my own life, I almost forget there is a world of people out there that need God in a real way. My verse for today is Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." This morning the devil's scheme was to get me to stay home and it did not work, because I put my trust in God and He led me to the right choice. God has equipped me well.
