Adam and Eve were the first two people who ran and hid when they made a mistake. They ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil even though God had told them not to. Then they heard God walking in the Garden and their first instinct was to run and hide from Him. The funny thing is that we still do this today. It starts from the time we are children. I have seen a two year-old make a mistake and when they hear mom coming they run and hide, hoping that they will not get in trouble. Does this strategy work? NO! Mom knows exactly what happened and who the culprit was, yet we still do it. We can hide behind busyness, excuses, complaints, blaming others, pride, etc. The list could be extensive if we wrote down everything we have ever used to help us hide from our mistakes.

Well I have news for you, your hiding places don't work. People still find out your mistakes and you look silly for trying to hide them in the first place. The same goes for sin in our lives. God wants to help us find the right path, just like a loving parent wants their child to find the right path in life; yet just like that two year-old we are hiding under our bed waiting for the 'other shoe to drop'. God wants you to stop hiding, face your mistakes head on and learn from them. His Son died so that we may live in freedom and not live in the bondage of fear. I want to encourage you, it is time to come out of hiding and rest in God's loving arms.
