Have you ever felt out of control? I have. The last three months of my life have had some amazing miracles and some of the most disappointing moments I have had in my life to this point. Three months ago, my husband and I left Calgary and moved to Kelowna. We believed we were to start a home church and thought we had a congregation, however it took us almost a month to get the services going and yet the only ones who come are my niece, my husband and myself. My husband was managing a recovery house which has had to close down. Our financial support for our ministry is completely gone. Right now we have nothing, yet I am still believing for that miracle. God is my provider, and He will provide and I trust in Him.
God made me a promise before we started down this path. His promise to me was that we would always have more than enough for each day. He has kept true to His promise. Each day we have had enough food, enough gas money, enough to get by. I believe as we face this time when things are even leaner, we will see God lead and move in even greater ways. We thought God was going to provide in a couple of ways over the last week and everything has fell through, yet here I am still believing in that miracle. Why? The answer is quite simple, God cannot break His promise. Matthew 6:25-34 states quite clearly that it is not my job to worry about where the provision will come from, but just to trust in it. I have taken my eyes off the circumstance and placed them on the provider. My relationship with God continues to grow every day.
Have I been afraid? At first, when I was told that we would have no money coming in I was extremely fearful, and then I heard God's voice whisper to my soul, "Who is your provider?". This brought me complete peace that has not left me since. God is so amazing. I have been homeschooling my niece this summer and she had to read two books. One on D.L. Moody and one on George Mueller. Both of these men had times in their ministries when they had no money at all and everyone had other ideas of how to get more money but both of them prayed and just trusted God and the money came. God asks us to do the impossible so that He gets the glory! When He provides for us, all of the glory is His! My husband and I are praying and believing and willing to do whatever God asks us to do, and I believe it is through this that we will see God move in ways He hasn't before.
At the beginning of this article, I mentioned that I had seen God do miracles this summer. This is true. My niece was struggling when she first came out and now she is thriving. God has been transforming her. It has been amazing to watch this transpire. Another miracle, is that in the midst of all the trials we have had people who had gone through the recovery house come back and report how well they are doing now. The last miracle is that no matter what we have faced God has always been there, supporting us, holding us up, and giving us strength to make it through. The greatest part is that God will continue to do so, because He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
For every single one of our readers who is facing challenges that just seem too big, too insurmountable. Please remember that God will help you through every circumstance. He will provide for your every need. He will not let you down. Impossible = Me Without God Possible = Me With God
