We spend so much of our time complaining about our circumstances. I am in no way diminishing the difficulties that we face, however I do want to talk about this. There are so many times that I have complained about things and God showed me that He wanted to change my perspective, not my circumstance. He wanted me to be thankful for all of the blessings He has given to me already.

God loves us and He wants us to be thankful so we can live in more joy and more peace and not be so loaded down with our trials and problems. If we were to look at our lives from a new place of thankfulness, we will realize just how blessed we are and our problems will not seem so big!

If we are thankful, this will not only help you but it will help others as they watch you go through this difficult time. Other people will see that thankfulness and it can help them when they are going through difficult times. However if you are complaining about you troubles then it will bring down others around you.

Would you rather hang out with someone who is always complaining or with someone who is always talking about how good God is? I would rather be with the thankful person, because I need to surround myself with people who can nourish my spirit. I know life is difficult, but the next time you catch yourself complaining, STOP and just start thanking God for the things you do have; even if it is just one thing at a time. Like thanking God for the fact you are alive, that you have a job, a home, a healthy family, whatever God has blessed you with. The more you practice this the easier it will become. Most likely you can't do anything to change your circumstance so change the one thing you can... your perspective!
