It is completely amazing how life can just slip away from us sometimes. We have good intentions, sometimes we even make great plans and the next thing you know you are swamped and are missing out on the important things in life. This week has been so busy and I have had very little time to even write, hence the silence of my blog. I was starting to feel like my life was out of control. I started skipping my devotions and just praying at random times throughout my day. I kept up on my Bible Study and small group work, but I must admit I should have spent more time on it.
I missed out on all my quiet time with God this last week and it impacted me in a great way. I was more irritable. I got frustrated quickly and I was exhausted at the end of the day. God was with me, and I knew He was. I still had peace and I was still able to feel His presence when I prayed. I was neglecting God. I know it is a weird way to put it but it occurred to me as I was doing my First Aid course that I was neglecting my relationship with God. |
I missed out on my morning time of peace and tranquility with God. I missed out on what He wanted to show me specifically that day through my verse of the day and I missed out on what He wanted to reveal to me. I missed out on a lot and I want it back. So I am taking it back.
My question to you today is what are you missing out on? Is it time with friends? It is calling that friend that needs you? Is it your quiet time alone with God? Is it quality time with your children? If you are missing out on something big in your life that you want to get back, get it back! It may mean getting a bit less sleep, or re-organizing your time. However, if it is important enough to you it is worth a bit of sacrifice isn't it? It is about time we started controlling our time instead of letting our time control us.
